In an effort to continue to address the increasing need to house and serve members of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority at Kansas State University, the House Corporation authorized the construction of a major addition to the house at 517 Fairchild Terrace. In 1999, the Phase 1 project included additional mini-dorm sleeping/study rooms, an enlarged dining room, a new informal lounge, an ADA accessible entrance, computer rooms, and a library. Renovation of the housemother's quarters and kitchen modifications were also included in the overall scope of the project for further implementation at that time.
In 2012, a 3-year renovation planning process began. A complete second and third floor redesign and rehabilitation was completed for the 75 sorority members living in the house. Structural improvements and new restrooms, sleeping rooms, and study rooms were addressed in Phase 2 completed in 2015. Phase 3 included kitchen and dining room remodeling and upgrades as well as a covered entry and walk-in cooler addition completed in 2016.
