The Smoky Valley Roller Mill (1898), an intact historic milling building on the Smoky Hill River, has retained its unique features and serves as part of a museum complex.  The building, while in good condition, had severely deteriorated double hung windows which in most instances required considerable rehabilitation, reglazing and in some instances component replacement.

All window sashes were removed to the contractor’s workshop while frames and sills were repaired and repainted.  Once repaired and painted, the sashes were reinstalled in their original openings.  Openings depicting complete infill have been treated as such by the owner as they are inaccessible from the building interior due to configuration of the milling equipment.
